SYMBXL Animation
This was a fan animation I made for a Twitch Streamer SYMBXL as I had loved tuning into her streams. I wanted to test out how I would do making a full 3D animation that goes for a minute and a half to challenge myself with making various poses and motions. I would admit that I could have done better with how I posed the models and how long it took (it took a long time due to lack of motivation + some depression from work/life).
Who is SYMBXL?
SYMBXL is an indie backrooms VTuber that (currently as I am typing) lives in Australia. They usually stream Just Chatting, Art, and various video games on Twitch.

Part 1:
Modelling and Storyboarding Stage
This for my own personal reasons which I explained earlier took a long time. I didn’t take a lot of progress photos but at least there’s some stuff.
My initial idea for the animation was an outline on how the story will sort of flow, knowing later that there will be some changes.
I then made the models, and I did make some changes with the monster design. I initially was going to make the traditional backrooms monster, but I decided to use a character that I am planning on using for a game.
Texturing took a little bit to do as well, and I had to restart a couple times. I did eventually get it in the end. I do believe this was when my depression kicked me the hardest along side with rigging. Speaking about rigging, that was a painful process but that was mainly due to my depression hitting me again.

Part 2: Animation
I did most of the animation similar to how the storyboard went. The only difference I did was how SYMBXL met her voidlings and the monster. Instead of finding the monster already attacking the voidlings, the voidlings are just staring at SYMBXL, then having them rest a little until they see the monster.
I managed to finish this quickly but it was not efficiently. I had some trouble with how Blender was running at 12 FPS for the animation. I do think that baking the key poses would have made the animation run faster.
I ran some audios into DaVinci Resolve as my student account was going to go away due to finishing my course.
